I am learning to write a narrative. I'll know I can do this when my stories have:
- Character
- Setting
- Introduction
- Problem
- Climax
- Conclusion
- Descriptive language such as smilies and metaphors
- Character speech using speech marks
I am learning to Multiply by tens, hundreds, thousands and other multiples of ten. I will know I was successful when I can mutiply numbers by ten and i can mutiply numbers by 100s and 1000s.
I am learning to empathise. I'll know I can do this when I can identify a variety of ways I can show empathy to others. One way I showed empathy is when someone had no one to play with I let her play with me.
I am learning to create a piece of art inspired by Don Binney.
I'll know I can do this when I have created a landscape with a foreground, middle, and background.
My bird and my background are coloured using pastels and natural colours. Something I found hard was the drawing because we had to make them look natural.
I'll know I can do this when I can plan and write an information reports with a title, topic sentence, and a group of facts about a subject. Something that was hard in writing was writing big sentences about one topic.
I am learning to apply my knowledge to a text. I'll know I can do this when I can think of ways I have connections to a text and I can use those connections to help decode unfamiliar words and ideas. Something I learnt in reading was how to share my prior knowledge.
I am learning to solve addition and subtraction problems by exchanging ones for tens, and tens for hundreds (decomposition), leading to a written algorithm. I'll know I can do this when I can use column adding to solve problems. Something I learnt in maths is how to solve problems with remainders.
